Formlabs Form 4B is a strong shortlist dental 3D printer for practices and smaller labs that want a polished printer ecosystem, validated dental workflows, fast model production, and a route toward more material flexibility through Open Material Mode. It is not simply a printer purchase: the real buying decision includes PreForm, Dashboard, resin cartridges, tanks, wash/cure hardware, validated settings, post-processing, service plan, and staff training.

Workflow and cost fit

Form 4B fits practices that want a guided dental printing workflow more than a tinkering platform. It is attractive if the team values validated profiles, structured support, resin cartridges, and step-by-step software. The tradeoff is that real cost must include resin, tanks, build platforms, wash/cure units, support plan, staff time, failures, remakes, and whether third-party material use is actually validated for the indication you need.
