Editorial policy

Dental Spec Guide publishes desk-researched buying guidance for dental professionals. Our job is to make product research easier without pretending to replace manufacturer verification, qualified clinical judgment, legal advice, or local regulatory review.

How topics are selected

Editorial topics are selected from keyword research, search-intent analysis, and commercial relevance to professional dental buyers. A product, brand, software platform, or supplier is not included because of affiliate compensation. The initial site uses non-affiliate official manufacturer links only.

Evidence standards

We prefer official manufacturer pages, manuals, regulatory materials, distributor pages, standards, academic or professional sources, and reputable independent reviews. Manufacturer claims are attributed as manufacturer claims. Independent observations are attributed to their source and are not converted into Dental Spec Guide testing.

• Specifications, compatibility, intended use, warranty, training, support, and pricing need a source or must remain unknown.
• Price references must show the observed amount, region, source, and date whenever available.
• Regional requirements, medical-device status, installation obligations, radiation-safety rules, infection-control requirements, tax treatment, and privacy obligations must be verified with qualified local advisors.

Reviews and scores

Review pages are evidence-based desk research unless a page explicitly documents hands-on testing. The MVP reviews do not use numerical scores, stars, first-party ratings, Review schema, or AggregateRating schema. We do not claim dental-professional endorsement unless a qualified reviewer is formally engaged and named.

Clinical and professional boundaries

Our content is procurement guidance for professional readers. We do not provide diagnosis, treatment planning, patient-specific advice, radiation-safety advice, infection-control advice, legal advice, tax advice, or privacy-compliance advice. Medical-device and software claims are limited to sourced product information and purchasing questions to verify.

Our MVP review pages are desk-researched editorial guides. They are designed to help professional buyers decide what to verify before purchase, not to claim laboratory testing, clinical superiority, or personal hands-on experience.

What our reviews are based on

Each review starts with official product documentation where available: manufacturer product pages, technical specifications, support materials, pricing or quote pages, regulatory context, warranty language, training information, and regional availability notes. We then add clearly attributed independent sources when they help explain workflow fit, limitations, user sentiment, or alternatives.

No hands-on testing unless stated

The six MVP reviews have not been tested hands-on by Dental Spec Guide. A review may mention independent-review observations only when the source is named or cited. Those observations remain the independent source's findings, not our own testing results.

How pros and cons are written

Pros and cons are evidence-backed purchasing observations. A pro may summarize documented openness, available integrations, transparent pricing, or source-backed workflow strengths. A con may summarize unknown pricing, region-specific limitations, ecosystem lock-in questions, missing documentation, or support questions. We do not use pros and cons to make unsupported clinical-performance claims.

Alternatives and best-fit language

Alternative products are included when they share a buying context or appear in the approved comparison clusters. Best-fit and not-fit language describes purchasing scenarios, budgets, workflows, openness needs, training needs, and evidence gaps. It is not a clinical endorsement.

Why we do not use scores or stars

Dental equipment and dental software purchases depend heavily on region, indication, workflow, integration, training, support, and service terms. A single score can hide those tradeoffs. We therefore avoid numerical ratings, star ratings, imported supplier scores, and review-rich-result markup.

Verification cadence

Review pages show publication, update, and verification dates where the template supports them. Product specifications, pricing, support terms, and availability can change, so buyers should verify details directly with manufacturers or authorized distributors before purchasing.

Dental Spec Guide is an editorial website. The MVP does not include user accounts, comments, checkout, ecommerce, or public community features. The Contact page uses a Cloudflare Worker and Cloudflare native email sending to deliver messages to the publisher email address.

Information you choose to send

If you contact us by email or through the Contact page, your name, email address, subject, and message content are used to receive and respond to your inquiry. Contact form messages are processed by Cloudflare infrastructure and delivered to the publisher email address. Do not send patient information, confidential clinic data, or sensitive personal data.

Editorial and contact emails are normally retained for Up to 1 year, or until unsubscribe or deletion is requested where applicable. We may keep shorter or longer records where needed to handle corrections, abuse prevention, legal obligations, or unresolved editorial issues.

Analytics

Analytics at launch: Cloudflare Web Analytics. Cloudflare Web Analytics may be used for basic traffic measurement without user accounts or on-site profiling. Search Console may also be used to understand search visibility. Analytics configuration must be verified on the final production domain before launch.
