Quick decision
The Bio-Art A7 Plus is the evidence-stronger option: the manufacturer publishes a current product description and an English instruction manual covering setup, adjustments, cleaning, inspection, accessories, and service. The ORILAO package may be attractive on acquisition cost, but public evidence for calibration, parts, instructions, and support is limited. It should pass a stricter documentation check before purchase.
- Shortlist Bio-Art A7 Plus when documented system support, an established facebow workflow, and clearer adjustment specifications matter.
- Consider ORILAO only when the seller confirms the exact package, adjustment ranges, calibration, mounting system, manual, warranty, and replacement parts.
- Coordinate with the receiving laboratory before selecting either system. Mounting plates, transfer method, calibration, and interchangeability can matter more than a headline feature.
This guide covers procurement and equipment handling. It does not teach jaw-relation registration, occlusal diagnosis, prosthetic treatment planning, or clinical technique.
What “semi-adjustable” should mean in the quote
A semi-adjustable articulator should not be compared by appearance alone. Record whether it is Arcon or non-Arcon, the condylar-guide form and adjustment range, Bennett-angle adjustment, intercondylar-distance design, centric lock, incisal pin and table, mounting-plate system, facebow transfer method, upper-frame support, and whether units can be standardized for cast interchange.
Package identity is critical. “With facebow” may or may not include a bite fork, nasion relator, transfer jig, mounting plates, case, tools, and replacement consumables. Ask for a line-by-line contents list and the current manual before ordering.

| Condylar guide | Curved and adjustable in manufacturer documentation | Adjustment geometry and range need written confirmation |
| Bennett angle | Adjustable in manufacturer documentation | Confirm range and mechanism |
| Facebow | Selected package is described with Standard facebow | Listing describes standard facebow; verify every included part |
| System documentation | Official product page and instruction manual available | Public exact-model documentation is limited |

| Best fit | Teams prioritizing documented system continuity | Cost-conscious buyers able to run a strict acceptance check |
Laboratory handoff questions
- Which articulator and mounting-plate systems does the laboratory already support?
- Does the lab need the physical articulator, a transfer assembly, mounted casts, or a digital record?
- Can casts be transferred between units, and if so, what standardized version or calibration is required?
- Who owns mounting errors, shipping damage, calibration checks, and remakes?
- Which facebow and bite-fork processing procedure applies to the exact model?
- Which components are single-patient, autoclavable, disinfectable, or restricted by the current manual?
Incoming inspection
Before first use, compare the delivered package with the purchase order and manual. Check frame integrity, incisal-pin straightness, centric-lock operation, parallelism, smooth guide movement, mounting plates, facebow components, fasteners, case, and visible shipping damage. If the manufacturer requires an authorized inspection or calibration, follow that process rather than improvising a clinical acceptance test.
Evidence limits
Dental Spec Guide has not mounted casts or tested either articulator. Bio-Art specifications are attributed to Bio-Art. ORILAO details remain listing claims pending exact-model documentation. No clinical accuracy or treatment-outcome claim is made.
